Work through the task
- Record whether the supplied unit includes the cap, shoulder and seal. Match tube capacity, diameter and drawing reference.
- Calculate order mass from the actual complete-unit weight, or add separately measured components where the body weight excludes them.
- Compare finished tube prices with decoration and recurring charges separated from first-order tooling.

Twenty thousand complete tubes at 12 g represent 240 kg net packaging. If 12 g describes only the body and each cap adds 2 g, complete mass is 280 kg. The missing 40 kg comes from scope, not process loss.
Use your supplier specification and quotation. These numbers demonstrate the arithmetic; they are not market prices or a packaging suitability assessment.
Checks before you decide
- Body-only versus complete-unit weight
- Cap, seal and decoration included
- Drawing and intended product compatibility
