Connect pallet floor fit to freight cost

Plan pallet shipments using verified floor capacity, vehicle payload and freight allocation per product, with geometry and weight checked separately.

Work through the task

  1. Obtain actual usable floor and opening measurements, loaded footprint including overhang, loaded height and gross pallet mass. Confirm remaining payload with the carrier.
  2. Calculate consumption or geometry before assigning cost. Keep fixed charges, rounding and unused inventory visible.
  3. Confirm equivalent specification and scope, then use the category comparison or complete packaging BOM to compare supplier offers.

Tools for this job

A worked example

30 geometric positions become 26 total-payload positions at 900 kg each with 24,000 kg remaining. At 40 cartons and 12 products/carton, EUR 900 freight allocates to 12,480 products.

Use your supplier specification and quotation. These numbers demonstrate the arithmetic; they are not market prices or a packaging suitability assessment.
