Corrugated Board Cost per m² Calculator

Convert corrugated board pricing by kilogram or metric tonne into cost per square metre using actual complete-board GSM.

Use a saved product specification (optional)

Enter your values

First time using this calculator?

Replace the example values with figures from your supplier sheet or measurements. Choose the unit beside each value. Results update as you type; fix any highlighted field before using the result.

GSM means grams per square metre. Net weight excludes the core and other packaging. MOQ means the minimum order quantity. An optional field can stay blank unless the result you need depends on it.

Prices keep the selected currency; changing its label does not convert an exchange rate. Save or export the result after checking your inputs.

Help with actual board gsm

GSM is the weight of one square metre of material, in grams. Find it on the supplier specification; use the complete laminate value for layered film.

Unit label only. No currency conversion.

Results update as you edit. Nothing is saved until you choose to.
Example result — replace the inputs

Board material cost per m²

€0.4000/m²
Board material cost per kg€0.8000/kg
Board mass per m²0.5000 kg/m²

A metric tonne is 1,000 kg. Enter actual board GSM; no weight or strength is inferred from flute.

Price/m² = price/kg × GSM ÷ 1,000

0.8 × 500 ÷ 1,000 = 0.4/m²

The formula, made clear.

Cost/m² = Board GSM ÷ 1,000 × Price/kg; Price/kg = Price/tonne ÷ 1,000

An area price connects board purchasing to sheet and blank consumption. The GSM states how many grams occupy a square metre of finished corrugated board. Convert that mass to kilograms and multiply by the matching price. A heavier board has a higher area cost at the same mass price, so mass price alone can conceal the effect of a specification change.

How to use this calculator

  1. 01

Select price per kilogram or metric tonne.

  2. 02

Enter the quoted board price and complete-board GSM.

  3. 03

Use the area cost with actual sheet or blank dimensions.

A calculation you can check

The example places a mass-priced corrugated board offer on the area basis needed to cost a known blank.

Check the displayed formula and units against your quotation. Use measured GSM, net weight and actual layout dimensions where available. Default densities are planning assumptions, not certified material properties. Calculated cost does not certify strength, compatibility or safe loading.
