Corrugated Box Weight Calculator
Estimate corrugated material weight from the actual box blank and complete-board GSM. Enter an explicit removal percentage if slots and cutouts should be deducted.
Use a saved product specification (optional)

First time using this calculator?
Replace the example values with figures from your supplier sheet or measurements. Choose the unit beside each value. Results update as you type; fix any highlighted field before using the result.
GSM means grams per square metre. Net weight excludes the core and other packaging. MOQ means the minimum order quantity. An optional field can stay blank unless the result you need depends on it.
Prices keep the selected currency; changing its label does not convert an exchange rate. Save or export the result after checking your inputs.
Help with actual board gsm
GSM is the weight of one square metre of material, in grams. Find it on the supplier specification; use the complete laminate value for layered film.
Estimated box board weight
Uses actual blank dimensions. Finished internal or external package dimensions do not establish an exact die-line blank.
Cutout percentage describes material removed from this blank, not production yield loss. Adhesives, ink and accessories are excluded unless already included in measured GSM.
Retained weight (kg) = blank length × blank width × GSM ÷ 1,000 × (1 − cutout/100)
0.4 × 0.5 × 500 ÷ 1,000 × (1 − 0/100) = 0.1 kgSaved calculations stay in this browser. No account or cloud backup is created.

How sensitive is this result to your assumptions?
Vary one input and inspect estimated box board weight
All other entered inputs stay fixed. Ranges are your scenarios, not statistical confidence or supplier performance predictions. This uses the same validated calculator engine.
The formula, made clear.
A rectangular blank establishes the starting board area. The entered removal fraction deducts material that does not remain in the box. This avoids guessing a blank from assembled box dimensions, where flap design, joint allowances and scoring details affect consumption. Use a supplier dieline or measured production blank for the area inputs.
How to use this calculator
- 01
Enter actual blank length and width, not internal or external assembled-box dimensions.
- 02
Supply complete-board GSM and any known cutout-removal percentage.
- 03
Compare estimated retained board mass with a weighed sample.
A calculation you can check
The example estimates retained corrugated board mass from a verified blank with an explicitly stated cutout allowance.

Default densities are planning assumptions, not certified material properties. Calculated cost does not certify strength, compatibility or safe loading.
