Corrugated Order Weight Calculator

Calculate the net weight of a corrugated-box order from actual box unit weight. Add pallet and protective-packing tare to estimate gross shipment weight.

Use a saved product specification (optional)

Enter your values

First time using this calculator?

Replace the example values with figures from your supplier sheet or measurements. Choose the unit beside each value. Results update as you type; fix any highlighted field before using the result.

GSM means grams per square metre. Net weight excludes the core and other packaging. MOQ means the minimum order quantity. An optional field can stay blank unless the result you need depends on it.

Prices keep the selected currency; changing its label does not convert an exchange rate. Save or export the result after checking your inputs.

Help with order quantity

Enter the usable quantity you actually need. Waste, pack rounding or minimum order effects are added separately where required.

Additional measurements (optional) — some values entered

These are only needed for additional result units or a more detailed estimate. Entered values still affect the result when this section is closed.

Results update as you edit. Nothing is saved until you choose to.
Example result — replace the inputs

Net packaging order weight

5,000.000 kg
Gross shipment weight5,000.000 kg

Uses actual measured or specified weights for corrugated boxes. No mass is inferred from capacity or external dimensions.

Net kg = actual unit weight (g) × quantity ÷ 1,000; gross kg = net kg + transport packaging

500 × 10,000 ÷ 1,000 = 5,000 kg; + 0 = 5,000 kg gross

All other entered inputs stay fixed. Ranges are your scenarios, not statistical confidence or supplier performance predictions. This uses the same validated calculator engine.

The formula, made clear.

Net weight = Box unit weight × Quantity; Gross weight = Net weight + Shipment packaging tare

Use a measured box weight or a supplier value that matches the complete box specification. Multiplying by order quantity gives the mass of the boxes themselves. Pallets, stretch wrap and transport protection add weight without adding box units, so they are kept as a separate gross-shipment contribution.

How to use this calculator

  1. 01

Enter actual box weight and select its mass unit.

  2. 02

Enter the number of boxes in the shipment.

  3. 03

Add the total tare of pallets and other shipment packaging.

A calculation you can check

The example separates corrugated-box product weight from the additional tare shipped with the order.

Actual box unit weight
500 g
Order quantity

Additional transport packaging weight
0 kg
500 × 10,000 ÷ 1,000 = 5,000 kg; + 0 = 5,000 kg gross

Check the displayed formula and units against your quotation. Use measured GSM, net weight and actual layout dimensions where available. Default densities are planning assumptions, not certified material properties. Calculated cost does not certify strength, compatibility or safe loading.
