Roll Price to Price per m² Calculator
Convert a roll quotation into an area price using its web width and winding length. This allows comparison with suppliers that quote film directly per square metre.
Use a saved product specification (optional)

First time using this calculator?
Replace the example values with figures from your supplier sheet or measurements. Choose the unit beside each value. Results update as you type; fix any highlighted field before using the result.
GSM means grams per square metre. Net weight excludes the core and other packaging. MOQ means the minimum order quantity. An optional field can stay blank unless the result you need depends on it.
Prices keep the selected currency; changing its label does not convert an exchange rate. Save or export the result after checking your inputs.
Label only. No exchange-rate conversion.
Help with web width
Measure the full width of the flat material from edge to edge, rather than the width of one finished pack. Choose the matching unit.
Price per m²
Price/m² = roll price ÷ (width (m) × length (m))
240 ÷ (0.8 × 1,000) = 0.3/m²Saved calculations stay in this browser. No account or cloud backup is created.

Vary one input and inspect price per m²
All other entered inputs stay fixed. Ranges are your scenarios, not statistical confidence or supplier performance predictions. This uses the same validated calculator engine.
The formula, made clear.
A roll contains width multiplied by length square metres of web. The roll price divided by that area is the effective material price per square metre. Unlike conversion to a kilogram price, this calculation does not require GSM. It is therefore useful when roll dimensions are confirmed but weight data is unavailable. The quality of the answer depends on the quoted or measured length being representative of the roll supplied.
How to use this calculator
- 01
Enter the price of one roll in its original currency.
- 02
Enter the full web width and roll length using the available unit selectors.
- 03
Review calculated roll area and its effective price per square metre.
A calculation you can check
A buyer evaluates a fixed-price reel using the width and length on its specification sheet, then compares its area price with a square-metre quotation.

Default densities are planning assumptions, not certified material properties. Calculated cost does not certify strength, compatibility or safe loading.
