Roll Cost per Linear Meter Calculator
Divide a roll’s price by its winding length to calculate effective cost per running metre. Use this to budget a known machine run or compare equal-width reel offers.

First time using this calculator?
Replace the example values with figures from your supplier sheet or measurements. Choose the unit beside each value. Results update as you type; fix any highlighted field before using the result.
GSM means grams per square metre. Net weight excludes the core and other packaging. MOQ means the minimum order quantity. An optional field can stay blank unless the result you need depends on it.
Prices keep the selected currency; changing its label does not convert an exchange rate. Save or export the result after checking your inputs.
Label only. No exchange-rate conversion.
Roll cost per linear meter
Price/linear meter = roll price ÷ roll length

All other entered inputs stay fixed. Ranges are your scenarios, not statistical confidence or supplier performance predictions. This uses the same validated calculator engine.
The formula, made clear.
This direct conversion needs roll price and length but no GSM. It preserves every charge already included in the roll price, so it may represent a bundled commercial cost rather than a pure film material price. A running-metre price is width-dependent: two differently sized webs should be converted to area or finished-unit cost before being treated as equivalent offers.
How to use this calculator
- 01
Enter the total price for the roll being evaluated.
- 02
Enter its supplied winding length, selecting the correct length unit.
- 03
Use the effective running-metre price with the corresponding production web width.
A calculation you can check
The example spreads the price of a reel across its running length to establish a length-based material cost factor.

Default densities are planning assumptions, not certified material properties. Calculated cost does not certify strength, compatibility or safe loading.
