PCR / Virgin Resin Blend Cost Calculator
Calculate the weighted raw-material price of a PCR and virgin resin blend. Include a separately defined additive or masterbatch share when applicable.

First time using this calculator?
Replace the example values with figures from your supplier sheet or measurements. Choose the unit beside each value. Results update as you type; fix any highlighted field before using the result.
GSM means grams per square metre. Net weight excludes the core and other packaging. MOQ means the minimum order quantity. An optional field can stay blank unless the result you need depends on it.
Prices keep the selected currency; changing its label does not convert an exchange rate. Save or export the result after checking your inputs.
Help with pcr price per kg
Use the price for one kilogram of the quoted material, excluding freight unless the quote explicitly combines them.
Help with virgin resin price per kg
Use the price for one kilogram of the quoted material, excluding freight unless the quote explicitly combines them.
Unit label only. No currency conversion.
Additional measurements (optional) — some values entered
These are only needed for additional result units or a more detailed estimate. Entered values still affect the result when this section is closed.
Help with additive / masterbatch price per kg
Use the price for one kilogram of the quoted material, excluding freight unless the quote explicitly combines them.
Weighted raw blend cost
PCR percentage refers to the base resin blend; additive percentage refers to the complete final blend and replaces that share of base resin.
Cost arithmetic does not establish product performance, regulatory suitability or environmental benefit.
Blend cost/kg = (1 − additive fraction) × (PCR fraction × PCR price + virgin fraction × virgin price) + additive fraction × additive price
(1 − 0/100) × (30/100 × 1.2 + (1 − 30/100) × 1.5) + 0/100 × 0 = 1.41/kgSaved calculations stay in this browser. No account or cloud backup is created.

Vary one input and inspect weighted raw blend cost
All other entered inputs stay fixed. Ranges are your scenarios, not statistical confidence or supplier performance predictions. This uses the same validated calculator engine.
The formula, made clear.
A blend price is a mass-weighted average, not the simple average of component prices. PCR percentage applies to the base resin before additives. The additive percentage applies to the complete final blend and replaces that fraction of base resin. The engine therefore scales both PCR and virgin contributions down together, keeping the final mass fractions at 100%.
How to use this calculator
- 01
Enter PCR share and PCR and virgin kilogram prices.
- 02
Enter any additive share and price using the stated final-blend convention.
- 03
Review the weighted cost and confirm that the recipe matches the intended material specification.
A calculation you can check
The example combines PCR and virgin price contributions according to their entered mass shares before any optional additive adjustment.
