Adhesive Cost per m² Calculator

Estimate adhesive purchase cost per square metre from dry coat weight, solids content and wet adhesive price per kilogram. Use it as a material input to a laminate cost build-up.

Use a saved product specification (optional)

Enter your values

First time using this calculator?

Replace the example values with figures from your supplier sheet or measurements. Choose the unit beside each value. Results update as you type; fix any highlighted field before using the result.

GSM means grams per square metre. Net weight excludes the core and other packaging. MOQ means the minimum order quantity. An optional field can stay blank unless the result you need depends on it.

Prices keep the selected currency; changing its label does not convert an exchange rate. Save or export the result after checking your inputs.

Adhesive material cost per m²

€0.02000/m²
Wet coat weight5.00 g/m²

Price must refer to wet adhesive as used, on the same basis as the entered solids fraction. Excludes losses and application cost.

Cost/m² = dry GSM ÷ (solids/100) ÷ 1,000 × wet adhesive price/kg

2 ÷ (40/100) ÷ 1,000 × 4 = 0.02/m²

The formula, made clear.

Cost/m² = Dry GSM ÷ Solids fraction ÷ 1,000 × Wet adhesive price/kg

A dry coat weight cannot be multiplied directly by a wet adhesive price unless the adhesive is fully solid. First divide dry grams per square metre by the solids fraction to establish wet grams required. Convert that wet quantity to kilograms and apply the purchase price. Lower solids content increases the wet mass needed for a given retained dry coat weight, assuming the entered price applies to the adhesive at that concentration.

How to use this calculator

  1. 01

Enter the specified dry adhesive coat weight.

  2. 02

Enter the solids percentage of the material being costed and its wet price per kilogram.

  3. 03

Review area cost and use it alongside separately priced film, print and coating layers.

A calculation you can check

Check the displayed formula and units against your quotation. Use measured GSM, net weight and actual layout dimensions where available. Default densities are planning assumptions, not certified material properties. Calculated cost does not certify strength, compatibility or safe loading.
